Early entrance means entering Kindergarten or 1st Grade
before the legal entrance age by means of testing. Parents interested in
early entrance for pupils whose birthdays are between September 1 and
December 31 should contact the school office by February 1 so that testing
can be scheduled before summer.
Grace Lutheran School reserves the
right to accept or decline enrollment determined by whether the school can
meet the child's needs. Enrollment may require certain academic
adjustments or even a probationary period. The school also reserves the
right to determine final grade placement for any applicant or present
student based on educational need.
Admission to the school shall
be with the understanding that parents have familiarized themselves with
the philosophy and policies of Grace Lutheran School.
Grace is
a school of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) and welcomes student
of all religions. All students will have daily religion classes using
curriculum prepared for LCMS elementary schools. Beginning with grade one,
students have memory assignments twice a week. Students will learn the six
chief parts of Luther's catechism, books of the Bible, and selected Bible
verses.
ENROLLMENT PRIORITY POLICY
1st
ENROLLMENT PERIOD - Enrollment is open only to families with children
currently enrolled and families that are members of LCMS churches.
2nd ENROLLMENT PERIOD - Open enrollment is on a
first-come-first-serve basis until classes are filled. After classes are
filled, students may be placed on a waiting list if desired. A parent can
hold a place on the waiting list by paying the registration fee.
FULL
PAYMENT OF THE CURRENT REGISTRATION FEE MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF
ENROLLMENT.
ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE
The
enrollment procedure includes receiving an enrollment packet which
contains an introductory letter, a brochure, a tuition/fee sheet, and an
application form. (Download
the application form) After completing the application, the parent(s)
should make an appointment with the principal. Parents should bring the
application form, along with copies of all previous academic records
(report cards and standardized tests) to the first visit. The child(ren)
may be present at the first visit or at a follow-up visit. After the
interview, the family will be notified of the child's acceptance or denial
of enrollment. If application of enrollment is accepted, the registration
fee must be paid at the time of enrollment. Registration fees are
non-refundable except in extenuating circumstances. Upon admission to the
school, the secretary will request certain information and the completion
of several forms.
During the first enrollment period for Preschool,
Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-8, re-enrollment forms
will be distributed to school families. The registration fee has to be
submitted with the form to reserve a place for the child(ren). Fees are
non-refundable unless the family moves away. No student is allowed to
re-enroll unless all tuition is paid by July 1. Where outstanding fees
exist, a family is required to make mutually acceptable arrangements with
the principal to complete such payments prior to reenrollment for the next
school year. These financial arrangements have to be made before the July
Board of Education meeting. All financial arrangements need to be approved
by the Board of Education.
